about

INTRODUCTION

Many of the musicians on this recording have never rehearsed with a band, recorded in a studio, or played a show in front of a large audience. In fact, most met each other for the first time just three months before the release of this CD. Through Rock Workshop they’ve all gotten a taste of what it’s like to be in a band.

The mission of Rock Workshop is to help aspiring musicians gain the experience of playing with others in a band. This is an educational program that embraces the love of music and teaches participants how to work together in a creative setting. We welcome musicians of all ages and backgrounds.

HOW IT WORKS

Through an audition, musicians are placed into bands based on age, talent, and musical interests. Working with an instructor over 10 weeks, they rehearse, write songs, and record at Blast House Studios. The program culminates with a packed show at the High Noon Saloon!

SPECIAL THANKS

High Noon Saloon; Chris Langkamp from Sooper Dooper; program co-founder Kendall Mann; instructors Stefan Truesdell, Riley Heninger, Nick Omiccioli, Dustin Sisson, and Landon Arkens; all the parents and families of Rock Workshop musicians and everyone who has supported Madison Music Foundry over the years.
